Softball Recap: Linfield Christian Lions vs. Chaparral Pumas
Linfield Christian won against Colony last Wednesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Linfield Christian Lions blew past the Chaparral Pumas 15-4. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Pumas recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Presley Sloniker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Sloniker was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Charli Calas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Chloe Hill was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Linfield Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
