Baseball Recap: Madison Beats Blissfield for Their Fourth Straight Win

Madison came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Blissfield Royals with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brian Dopp was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Madison: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Norman Frederick, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Madison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Madison's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Blissfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Madison will welcome Hudson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Blissfield will be paying especially close attention to the Trojans' match: after the Trojans face off against the Tigers, they'll take on Blissfield again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
