League recap: Sugar-Salem rolls against South Fremont

3A Mountain Rivers recap Oct. 3, 2012

Sugar-Salem took down South Fremont 44-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Diggers led 3A Mountain Rivers in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Cougars.

South Fremont's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Junior Gonzalez has thrown for 771 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Jason Maupin has 17 catches for 319 yards. Zach Trost leads the league in rushing with 246 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sugar-Salem takes on Teton. Thor Ware's team is in third place, while the Redskins are in first place.

Teton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,421 from 5,977.
