The Classical Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 34-17 win over the Eaton Reds. The victory was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on 14 straight dating back to last season.

The Classical Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Smetana out in front who threw for 219 yards and two touchdowns. Those 219 passing yards gave Smetana a new career-high. Jackson Schipfer helped Smetana out on the ground, rushing for 46 yards and a pair of TDs, while also picking up 34 receiving yards and one score.

The Classical Academy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Eaton to a completion percentage of just 30%. The Titans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Looking ahead, The Classical Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Florence at 7:00 p.m. As for Eaton, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Pueblo Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
