Softball Recap: Olympus Beats Skyline for Their 11th Straight Win

Olympus had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Skyline Eagles as they made off with a 12-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 two weeks ago.

Charlie Turner looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olympus got a massive performance out of Eliza Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Allisson Robles, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Olympus' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

Coming up, Olympus will host Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to challenge Alta at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
