Basketball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Comes Up Short

If Grosse Pointe South was riding high fresh off their 42-18 takedown of Cousino last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Utica Eisenhower Eagles on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 55-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Grosse Pointe South has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Utica Eisenhower, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

Coming up, Grosse Pointe South will square off against Port Huron at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Utica Eisenhower, they will challenge Armada at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Armada will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Utica Eisenhower surely won't give up without a fight.
