Baseball Recap: Jordan Takes a Loss

Jordan had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 12-13 to make it four. They fell just short of the Lakewood Lancers by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For Lakewood's part, the team relied heavily on Xavier Nunez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Lancers are undefeated when Nunez posts two or more runs, but 7-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Gallegos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Jordan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Cabrillo on the 5th. As for Lakewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-0 defeat against Millikan on the 5th.
