Softball Recap: Benton Central Comes Up Short

Benton Central was the 11-9 winner over Twin Lakes when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bison fell 12-7 to the Indians on Wednesday.

Mariyah Rich was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Kennedy Dowell also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Benton Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Twin Lakes, they moved to 6-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton Central will take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bison are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Twin Lakes, they will face off against Delphi Community at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
