Baseball Recap: St. Paul's Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last five times St. Paul and Ponchatoula had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. St. Paul's fell just short of Ponchatoula by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 last Tuesday.

Brennan Keim was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Cody Corales was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

St. Paul's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Ponchatoula, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Coincidentally, St. Paul's and Ponchatoula will both be playing Mandeville the next time they take the field. Ponchatoula will host Mandeville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Paul's will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
