Soccer Recap: Socorro Comes Up Short

Socorro's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Coronado Thunderbirds by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Socorro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Coronado are ranked 49th).

Socorro has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Coronado, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-2.

Looking ahead, Socorro will face off against Montwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montwood's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Coronado, they will challenge Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
