Baseball Recap: Northwest Catholic Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Northwest Catholic was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of the Bristol Central Rams by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since March 31st.

Will Chyra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Northwest Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Vincent, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Northwest Catholic dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Bristol Central, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Catholic will square off against Bristol Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Lions are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bristol Central, they will head out to challenge Lewis Mills at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
