Soccer Game Preview: Nease vs. Fernandina Beach

The Nease Panthers will square off against the Fernandina Beach Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Nease is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since November 12. They and Spruce Creek finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Fernandina Beach entered their tilt with West Nassau on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Warriors 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Pirates were the better team in the second half.

Fernandina Beach's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5-1. Nease's draw gives them a new season record of 10-3-2.

Everything went Nease's way against Fernandina Beach in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, as Nease made off with a 5-1 victory. In that game, Nease amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
