Baseball Recap: Boyd's Loss Ends 16-Game Winning Streak at Home

Boyd dropped their record down to 25-4 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of Arlington Heights by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Boyd has suffered since March 29th.

As for Arlington Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Arlington Heights' part, Caleb Eagar was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Carpenter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Coming up, Boyd will square off against Liberty Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. Arlington Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
