Softball Recap: Gill St. Bernard's Comes Up Short

Gill St. Bernard had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-6-1 to make it four. They fell 5-2 to the Delaware Valley Terriers. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Terriers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McKinley Weese made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

As for Delaware Valley, their record now sits at 10-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Delaware Valley's side, Grace Slack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. Slack has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lilly Rynearson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Ava Figalora was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Gill St. Bernard's had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
