Katie Grimm commands the offense for Knights win

Recap: Tyler Knights vs. Ritchie County Rebels

Even though the Tyler Knights have not done well against the Ritchie County Rebels recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Tyler walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Rebels. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but Tyler was the better team in the second half.

Tyler's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katie Grimm, who scored 17 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jules Lattea, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Despite the defeat, Ritchie County saw an underclassman step up: Chelsie Jeffrey scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jeffrey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrea Davis, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and four steals.

Tyler is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Ritchie County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Tyler will head out on the road to challenge the White Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wahama will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Knights are ranked 68th). As for Ritchie County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m.
