Softball Recap: Harlem Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Harlem lost to Rockford Auburn back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Huskies blew past the Knights 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylie Adams made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Adams was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Harlem let Maddy Merschman and Adriah Sholl run wild. Merschman went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Sholl went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave Sholl a new career-high. Joslyn Agustin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Harlem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockford Auburn only posted a batting average of .259.

Harlem is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rockford Auburn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Harlem will take on Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The J-Hawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rockford Auburn, they will challenge Hononegah at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
