The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators will head out to take on the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Gulf Pointe Latin is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing South Baldwin Christian Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Gulf Pointe Latin blew South Baldwin Christian Academy out of the water with a 56-19 final score. The Gladiators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Gulf Pointe Latin's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rebekah Thompson, who went 10 for 15 on her way to 22 points, and Kaitlyn Lothringer, who went 6 of 12 en route to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Thompson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Litz, who posted eight points and six boards.
Gulf Pointe Latin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, West Florida Baptist Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Jaguars with a 69-64 victory.
West Florida Baptist Academy found their leader in sophomore Olivia Pearce, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 24 rebounds. Pearce is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played. Makenna Enfinger was another key player, putting up 14 points and six assists.
Gulf Pointe Latin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.9 points per game. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Gulf Pointe Latin has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like West Florida Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
