Softball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Folsom Bulldogs

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will challenge the Folsom Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis Sr. is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Davis Sr. needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Francis. They won by a run and slipped past the Troubadours 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blue Devils as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Lester, who fired off two home runs and one double while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

Lester wasn't the only one making solid contact: Davis Sr. kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Blue Devils are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Folsom's offense. They lost 7-0 to Oak Ridge on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Davis Sr.'s win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 11-6. As for Folsom, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-2.

Folsom's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Davis Sr. hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. It's a different story for Folsom, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Davis Sr.'s hitters?
