Volleyball Recap: Whiteland Warriors vs. Decatur Central Hawks
Whiteland was the 2-0 winner over Decatur Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks on Wednesday.
While Whiteland ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20.
Caleb Oliver paced Whiteland's offense, picking up nine kills. Oliver got some help from Joseph Ngun and his 22 assists.
Whiteland dropped their record down to 8-20 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Decatur Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Coming up, Whiteland will take on Jeffersonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Decatur Central, they will square off against University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
