Baseball Recap: Edina Takes a Loss

Edina lost against St. Michael-Albertville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hornets fell just short of the Knights by a score of 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Edina got a good showing from Quinlan Cronin, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Jackson McGrath was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bode McConnell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Edina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for St. Michael-Albertville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Edina will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Michael-Albertville, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Minnetonka at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
