Basketball Game Preview: Lakehill Prep Warriors vs. Texoma Christian Eagles

The Lakehill Prep Warriors will head out to challenge the Texoma Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Texoma Christian better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Lakehill Prep really get things going. Lakehill Prep blew past North Dallas Adventist Academy 57-35 on Monday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Sentinel recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lakehill Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Corder out in front who went 7-for-14 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Kelvin (KJ) Walker was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points.

Lakehill Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Texoma Christian entered their tilt with Christ Academy last Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 55-23.

Texoma Christian pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Lakehill Prep, their win bumped their record up to 22-7.

Lakehill Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Texoma Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakehill Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
