Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence fell victim to Hoover and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost seven in a row.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Hoover, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Independence will head out on the road to challenge Sissonville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hoover, they will take on George Washington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
