Basketball Game Preview: Immanuel Christian Warriors vs. Andress Eagles

The Immanuel Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Andress Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Immanuel Christian easily dispatched Tornillo on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Immanuel Christian fell just short of Fabens by a score of 45-43 on Tuesday. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ben Story, who posted ten points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Noah Ayala was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Immanuel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Andress posted their biggest win since January 12th on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 68-24 victory over San Elizario. Given Andress' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while San Elizario is ranked 939th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andress is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Immanuel Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
