Baseball Recap: West Caldwell Comes Up Short

If West Caldwell was riding high fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Lincolnton last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell 4-0 to the West Lincoln Rebels on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost eight in a row.

West Caldwell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Barrett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for West Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will host South Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Lincoln, they will challenge Cherryville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rebels 3.9, the Ironmen 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
