After flying high against Seventy-First last Friday, Lumberton came back down to earth. Lumberton fell 13-8 to the Purnell Swett Rams on Tuesday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Maliyah Hardin and Jaelyn Hammond did some serious damage despite the final result: Hardin scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Hammond scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave Hardin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leea Wilkins, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Lumberton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 11.

Lumberton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Purnell Swett, their record is now 4-6.
