Volleyball Game Preview: McClave Cardinals vs. Springfield Longhorns

The McClave Cardinals will face off against the Springfield Longhorns at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. McClave is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

It was a proper cat-fight when McClave duked it out with Wiley on Friday. The Cardinals blew past the Panthers 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: McClave took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-6.

Among those leading the charge was Kristen Marks, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Springfield not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Trinidad as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won four in a row.

Springfield walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.

McClave's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

McClave took their victory against Springfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
