Basketball Recap: Eastside Early College Comes Up Short

Eastside Early College lost against Lago Vista back in November of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eastside Early College Panthers took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lago Vista Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 880th, while the Vikings are ranked 208th).

Lago Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Henry Sisemore out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Sisemore's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Porter Herrod, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Eastside Early College's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-7. As for Lago Vista, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Eastside Early College will host Austin Achieve at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lago Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge Travis at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lago Vista is facing Travis at the right time seeing as Travis is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
