Game recap: Waxahachie pulls off late win against Mansfield Summit

After eight lead changes, Waxahachie (Texas) took the lead for good when it ran for a touchdown with under a minute left in the fourth quarter and held on to beat Mansfield Summit (Arlington, Texas) 64-57 on Saturday.

The Indians expanded their lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. Waxahachie scored four times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.

Antonio Bennett played well for the Jaguars. The junior quarterback threw four touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to eight on the year.

With the win WHS extended its winning streak to three games.

Waxahachie (3-1) will play a 4A Region II District 15 game against Lancaster next week, while Mansfield Summit (0-4) will take on Seguin also in a 4A Region II District 15 game.
