Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes vs. West Hall Spartans

The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes will take on the West Hall Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Thursday, Monroe Area ended up a good deal behind Jefferson and lost 58-41. While losing is never fun, the Purple Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Dragons are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, West Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The contest between them and Oconee County didn't end well, with West Hall falling 73-59.

Monroe Area has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for West Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
