Softball Game Preview: Becton Wildcats vs. Ridgefield Memorial Royals

The Becton Wildcats will head out to square off against the Ridgefield Memorial Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Becton is looking for their season's first win.

Lyndhurst hit Becton with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Golden Bears, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Ridgefield Memorial had just enough and edged out Lodi 7-6 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by just one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Ridgefield Memorial and bumps their season record up to 4-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Becton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.

Becton suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to Ridgefield Memorial when the teams last played back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
