Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Providence Christian Academy was the 51-33 winner over Aquinas Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Providence Christian Academy Griffins received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 61-47 to the Aquinas Academy Crusaders. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Providence Christian Academy lost, don't look at Bryce Unruh. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Unruh's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Sparrow, who posted six points.

Providence Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Aquinas Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Christian Academy and Red Lion Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aquinas Academy will take on Sussex Academy in a holiday battle at at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
