Softball Game Preview: Tri-Township Tigers vs. Morgan Township Cherokees

Tri-Township hasn't had much luck against Morgan Township recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Cherokees at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tri-Township is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 17-1 to Kouts. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Tri-Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kirstyn Dailey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Dailey's first of the season.

Hebron hit Morgan Township with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cherokees came up short against the Hawks, falling 11-4. The loss continues a trend for the Cherokees in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost six in a row.

Tri-Township's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Tri-Township might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Morgan Township when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
