            The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will challenge the Parowan Rams at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Maple Mountain has three straight  victories, Parowan has six straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Maple Mountain proved they can win big  on Friday (they won by six) and  on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a  run and slipped past Fremont  6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Golden Eagles have posted  since March 9, 2024.
 Kyla Donegan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
 On the hitting side,  Brettlyn Walker and  McClain Carter did most of the damage at the plate:  Walker  went 1-for-3 with one  triple and two  RBI, while  Carter  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Daphnee Pagano, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Parowan's offense. They came up short against  Cedar on Friday, falling  17-0.
 Parowan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Maple Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
