Football Game Preview: Marian Catholic Spartans vs. Marmion Cadets

The Marian Catholic Spartans will challenge the Marmion Cadets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Marian Catholic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 35 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Carmel on Friday. They took a blow against the Corsairs, falling 70-7. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Corsairs: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Marmion's offense. They were beaten by Montini Catholic 47-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 48 points in the game before, the Cadets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marmion's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Marian Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Things could have been worse for Marian Catholic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to Marmion in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Spartans, Bryan Scales (who picked up 142 receiving yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
