Soccer Recap: Catholic Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

With a playoff win on the line, Catholic rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Saint Gertrude Gators. Catholic haven't had any issues with Saint Gertrude recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Stella Wood was the driving force of Catholic's attack as she scored both of Catholic's goals, bringing her season total up to 12 goals.

Catholic pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six matchups. As for Saint Gertrude, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5-4 record this season.

Catholic will take on The Covenant at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Covenant will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. Saint Gertrude does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
