Basketball Recap: Mercedes Takes a Loss

Mercedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 49-23 to the Harlingen South Hawks. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mercedes' defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Harlingen South, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11.

Mercedes will take on Donna North in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlingen South and Edcouch-Elsa will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
