Football Recap: Clayton Schuster's Menacing Defense Leads Boonville over Southern Boone

Boonville won the last time they faced Southern Boone and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates walked away with a 21-13 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Tatum Hough was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 51 yards and one TD, and also threw for 101 yards and one touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes.

Boonville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Clayton Schuster was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Another thorn in Southern Boone's side was KeiSean Roper, who picked up 0.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Boonville's record now sits at 3-1. As for Southern Boone, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boonville will host Blair Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Southern Boone, they will be playing at home against Dexter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
