Softball Recap: Coquille Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Coquille ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. Everything went their way against the Siuslaw Vikings as they made off with an 18-11 victory. The Red Devils not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18, 2024 (when they won 14-6).

Chloe Carr was incredible, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Lockwood, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Coquille's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Siuslaw, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Coquille will take on rival Sutherlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Siuslaw is set to square off against their familiar foe Glide at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
