Baseball Recap: Constitution's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on Wednesday, Constitution came back down to earth. Constitution lost 21-11 to the West Philadelphia Speedboys on Thursday. The loss was the Generals' first of the season.

Teo Mayorga and Jackson Kardon did some serious damage despite the final result: Mayorga scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Kardon scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Mayorga has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Owen Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Constitution fell to 3-1. As for West Philadelphia, their record now sits at an identical 3-1.

Coming up, Constitution will challenge Roxborough at 3:15 p.m. on April 4. Roxborough has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Constitution will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Philadelphia, they will take on Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on April 4. The match will give West Philadelphia their first taste of in-conference action this season.
