Softball Recap: Lockport Takes a Loss

Grand Island hit Lockport with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions came up short against the Vikings, falling 13-1. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Lockport's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Grand Island, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lockport is set to challenge their familiar foe Niagara Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Grand Island will take on rival North Tonawanda at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.6, the Lumberjacks 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
