Softball Recap: Monadnock Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Bishop Brady

Monadnock faced Bishop Brady in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Huskies fell just short of the Giants by a score of 5-4. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Giants recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Ari Drouin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Liv Knightly was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Monadnock's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Bishop Brady, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2-1.
