Preview: Larned Indians vs. Great Bend Panthers
Larned is 0-3 against Great Bend since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Larned will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Great Bend is ranked 49th).
Last Saturday, Larned came up short against St. John and fell 47-40. That's two games in a row now that Larned has lost by exactly seven points.
Meanwhile, Great Bend had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past Sunrise Christian Academy Silver with a 71-65 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
This is the second loss in a row for Larned and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Great Bend, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
