Volleyball Recap: Brownstown Central Falls Short of Roncalli in the Playoffs

Brownstown Central and Roncalli squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Brownstown Central had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2. The Braves have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Loss or not, Brownstown Central got some senior leadership from Sophie Wischmeier and Finley Wheeler. Wischmeier had 19 kills, 14 digs, three aces, and two blocks, while Wheeler had 13 digs and two aces. Wischmeier is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fritz, who had 21 digs and two assists.

Reagan Turk was nothing short of spectacular for Roncalli: she had 36 digs and five assists. Those 36 digs gave Turk a new career-high.

Brownstown Central's defeat dropped their record down to 29-6. As for Roncalli, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season.

Brownstown Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roncalli, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Tri-West Hendricks on the 1st.
