Basketball Game Preview: South Plaquemines Hurricanes vs. Pine Raiders

The South Plaquemines Hurricanes will face off against the Pine Raiders at 7:20 p.m. on Friday.

South Plaquemines is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Vandebilt Catholic on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Terriers 87-28. The matchup marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pine had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-37 victory over the Saints.

South Plaquemines' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pine, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

South Plaquemines skirted past Pine 66-63 when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Will South Plaquemines repeat their success, or does Pine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
