Basketball Recap: Stafford Gets the Win

Stafford hadn't done well against Cunningham recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Stafford Trojans managed a 41-37 victory over the Cunningham Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in January, they had to take a 47-27 loss.

Cunningham's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Mcguire, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Mcguire has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Hageman, who scored 15 points and three steals.

Stafford's record is now 4-16. As for Cunningham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Stafford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-20 loss against Attica on the 21st. As for Cunningham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 31-25 defeat against Pretty Prairie on the 21st.
