Basketball Recap: Pine Eagle Gets the Win

Pine Eagle's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Salmon River Savages 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since February 14, 2025.

Despite the loss, Salmon River still got an impressive performance from Blake Shepherd, who posted 24 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Crump, who earned nine points.

Pine Eagle's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Salmon River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Pine Eagle will host Elgin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Salmon River has already played their next game (against Greenleaf Friends Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
