Basketball Recap: Frontier Falls Despite Big Games from Avery Powell and Jacob Bowersock

Frontier and Catholic Central squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Frontier had to settle for second. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catholic Central Crusaders. The Cougars have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Despite the loss, Frontier had strong showings from Jacob Bowersock, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and six rebounds, and Avery Powell, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Kason Hoff, who posted six points.

Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Catholic Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Frontier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catholic Central, they have already played their next matchup, a 56-37 win against Bishop Rosecrans on the 1st.
