Baseball Recap: Payette Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Payette had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Weiser Wolverines. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-3 win on April 1st.

Jesse Baker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Barrera, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Payette has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Weiser, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11.

Payette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 loss against Fruitland on the 27th. Weiser does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
