Baseball Recap: Jimtown's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Jimtown extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-4 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Westview Warriors. The Jimmies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Jimtown's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Cook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Westview's side, Jack Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Massey has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jimtown will host Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Jimmies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Westview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
