Basketball Game Preview: West Haven Blue Devils vs. New London Whalers

The West Haven Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the New London Whalers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Haven has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

West Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 96-78 victory over Glastonbury on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and New London had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down Crosby 70-56 on Wednesday. Given the Whalers' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bulldogs are ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New London pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points over those games. As for West Haven, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.
